ABOUT ME

MY STORY

My name is Anita McGovern and I am a BACP registered Humanistic integrative counsellor and passionate about the importance of good mental health for all.

I work in an empathic and non-judgmental way, offering a supportive and confidential space for the truth, for you to share whatever concerns you. I work compassionately and in partnership with you to enhance insight to facilitate and empower you to devise your own solutions for positive change, to break hard-wired patterns that no longer serve you and to foster and encourage an interest in self-care for your physical and mental wellbeing going forward.

I work using an integrative humanistic model which is a supportive form of therapy.  Everyone is unique with an important story to tell and gain valuable insights from. The philosophy behind this model is that given the right environment and at a pace that is right for you, individuals will work towards rediscovering inner resources and connect to their full potential.

MY PRACTICE

I offer long or short term open-ended individual therapy for all age groups from young people to older adults, neurotypical and neurodiverse.  I am available to work in-person (in Brighton and Hove) or online, using a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques to work in a creative and flexible way, tailored to your needs.
